A pronoun is a word used instead of a noun or a noun phrase, the most common form are personal pronouns, which reference the person or people speaking. A person's pronouns reflect who their assigned or chosen gender.
On August 3rd, 2026, SCG implemented a series of plugin changes that would enable players to set their pronouns and have their preferrences be reflected across a series of chat commands.
Pronoun selections are assorted into 4 categories:
Subject Pronouns: "I, You, He, She, It, We, You, They"
Object Pronouns: "Me, You, Him, Her, It, Us, You, Them"
Possessive Adjectives: "My, Your, His, Her, Its, Our, Your, Their"
Possessive Pronouns: "Mine, Yours, His, Hers, Its, Ours, Yours, Theirs"
The furry RP chat stuff plugin is the first one to implement this feature, a number of repsonses that used gender neutral wording will now render a person's chosen pronouns if defined.
Examples[1]
!coffee - [PLAYER] drank a sip of some rich coffee, she must feel great now!
!bellyrub <player> - [PLAYER] pinned down [TARGET] and rubbed his belly!
The easiest way to set them is via the SCG website. Visiting your TF2 settings page, scroll down to the "Pronouns" section.
Note: This is a temporary location, it may be moved later, and the method to input them may change as well.
sm_pronouns, !pronouns, /pronouns is the command to do so and takes them like so.
!pronouns <subject> <object> <adjectives> <possessives>
Example: !pronouns she her her hers (Rowdy's)
Note: This sucks and I'll make it better later.
